Functions and Capabilities
Main activities of laboratory are determination of minerals (Sodium, Potassium, Calcium, Phosphorus, Magnesium, Iron, Copper, Zinc , Cobalt, Chromium, Nickel, Manganese, Selenium), heavy metals (lead, cadmium, arsenic, mercury, tin) and if requested other elements in food, feed, water samples and food contact materials. Samples are analyzed with Atomic Absorption spectrophotometer (AAS) and Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) after Microwave Digestion, Wet Digestion or Ashing according to type of samples. To perform work at least 50 grams of sample is required. Elements can be detected at ppm (mg/kg), ppb (µg/kg) and when needed ppt (ng/kg) levels.
